Two new patients in waiting roomIf you would like to make an appointment please call the practice, and our receptionist will be happy to help book a time that’s convenient for you.

If you require urgent treatment, please contact us as early as possible: the surgery is open at 8am. We keep limited times open for same-day appointments.

NEW PATIENT PAPERWORK

When you arrive for your first consultation you will be asked to hand in a completed medical history form. This can be filled in at reception where our staff will be available to help, or you may download the form from this page and complete it prior to your visit.

If you wish to complete the form at our practice, please arrive 10-15 minutes prior to your booked appointment.

The New Patient Experience

On your first visit to Apollonia House Dental the time allocated will depend on your requirements. So, it is important to let our reception staff have as much detail as possible, either online or over the phone.

Dr Sivertsen will assess your previous treatment, take time to ask questions and listen to your current concerns and priorities. Good two-way communication with our patients is key to providing you with the best outcome.

During his consultation, Rob will complete a thorough examination. This may include the use of the miniature intra-oral camera and digital radiographs to aid in a thorough diagnosis. Rob will then use these images to help you gain a clear understanding of any current issues. In addition to the examination, a series of digital X-rays may also be taken.

Treatment of a perceived problem is not always necessary. We may just need to monitor your oral well-being. Sometimes simply improving your oral hygiene routine at home will provide the best outcome for you. Dr Sivertsen has information, including videos, to help put you back on the path to optimal oral health.

If Treatment Is Necessary

Even when treatment is required, the best course of action is not always the most expensive; new materials and modern dental techniques have made additional treatment options available. Dr Sivertsen will explain the advantages and disadvantages of each so you have a clear understanding of your options, and go home armed with the knowledge to make an informed decision that meets your current needs and priorities. However, if urgent attention is needed, treatment will be given on the same day.

We also appreciate that those in our rural communities may have further distances to travel for dental visits, so we offer longer appointments in order to reduce the number of trips you need to complete your treatment.

Rob is happy to discuss your payment options and HICAPS is available on site to allow direct claiming from your health fund.
